Well, the pods will soon be opening in Canada. On Tuesday, Netflix announced that Love Is Blind: Canada is officially happening, with singles from across the country invited to apply for the first Canadian edition of the hit reality dating experiment! A premiere date hasn’t been announced yet, but the show will hit the air sometime in 2027.
If you haven’t fallen down the Love Is Blind rabbit hole yet, you’re missing out. The show is all about whether people can fall in love without ever seeing each other. Singles date through a wall in private pods and get to know potential partners based entirely on conversation.
Those who make a connection can get engaged before meeting face-to-face. Cameras then follow the couples as they go on a group honeymoon and get to know each other in the real world before deciding whether to say yes at the altar and prove that love really is blind (or, you know, whether it’s all about getting more social media followers).
To apply, applicants 19+ need to complete an online application through the official casting site, submit a video and upload one recent photo by Nov. 2, 2026, at 11:59 p.m.
Although casting is open Canada-wide, the show is being filmed in Toronto! According to the eligibility requirements, applicants must be willing to live on the program’s set in Toronto for about 14 days, alongside roughly 10 to 40 strangers with “little or no privacy.”
And, as expected, Toronto’s dating scene is already getting dragged before filming has even started.
Mississauga influencer Kevyoh posted an Insta reel joking about the prospect of casting Toronto men for the show, captioning it, “the writing is on the pod walls.”
“Toronto men??? Oh these ladies better RUN,” one user responded, while another joked, “I hope they will also provide therapists for these women after they’re out the trenches.”
Reddit, as expected, wasn’t much kinder. “Ugh, Toronto is going to have the worst influencer wannabes,” one user said, while another was already “dreading having to translate the Toronto manz lingo.”
Others were simply thrilled about the potential reality TV chaos (really, aren’t we all?), with one user stating, “Omg!!! I can’t wait!”
