Delaware Investments plans to open the 18-suite Mereshi Safari Camp Serengeti, Autograph Collection, near the Fort Ikoma Gate in November 2026.

The camp will comprise 18 elevated tented suites across 55 acres of open savannah. Each suite will measure 95 square meters, including 50 square meters of interior space and 45 square meters of external living space. The suites will be oriented eastward.

Dunia Design designed the camp. The development was planned around the site’s existing natural features, with an emphasis on limiting ground disturbance and vegetation removal. Its architecture will use timber, canvas, woven elements and locally sourced materials.

Approximately 95% of the camp’s construction materials, furnishings and equipment, including canvas, timber and FF&E, have been sourced and produced in Tanzania. More than 150 Tanzanians have been involved in construction.

Once operational, the camp is expected to create about 100 permanent jobs, with Tanzanians expected to hold more than 90% of those positions. Local suppliers, industries, craftspeople and artists contributed to the project.

Mereshi Safari Camp is expected to participate in the next phase of a residential hospitality mentorship program developed by Give a Future Foundation with Hope for Girls and Women. Give a Future Foundation is the nonprofit arm of Delaware Investments. Hope for Girls and Women provides shelter, support and skills development opportunities for vulnerable girls and young women.

Under the program, at least five young women will live and train at the camp. The camp will cover their accommodation, meals and day-to-day living costs while they gain practical experience across the operation and work toward careers in Tanzania’s tourism industry.

Give a Future Foundation also supports a health care program that provides diagnosis, treatment and long-term management for children with sickle cell anemia, as well as health care services in Robanda.

The project follows the approach used at Delaware Investments’ Mapito Safari Camp, Serengeti, Autograph Collection, with a focus on local employment, Tanzanian sourcing and community programs.
