KPop Demon Hunters diehards have something new to look forward to. Netflix just announced KPop Demon Hunters: The Immersive Experience, an in-person interactive event offered at select Netflix House locations. The press release describes it as “an all-new interactive, music-filled adventure.”
Most importantly, participants get to meet the aptly named Derpy Tiger.
As for the specifics, Netflix says the experience begins backstage with Huntr/x before the opening night of their world tour. Then the film’s main antagonist, Gwi-Ma, attacks the venue, and guests will join Huntr/x in battling demons via interactive sets and screens, as well as 3D technology. The storyline will be presented through music and play-based challenges featuring live actors and custom animation. The event plays out to the film’s soundtrack, featuring songs like “Golden” and “How It’s Done.”
Netflix’s chief marketing officer Marian Lee said the following about the Netflix House event:
Fans don’t just want to watch KPop Demon Hunters, they want to live in the world of HUNTR/X. Netflix House is where fandoms like this get to live year-round, so it’s the perfect home for everything KPop Demon Hunters fans have been asking for. Singing the songs they already know by heart, facing off with demons, hanging out with Derpy Tiger — every detail is built so fans of all ages can feel, hear, and see this world exactly the way they imagined it.
Where is the event, and when will tickets be on sale?
The event will be available at the Netflix House locations in Dallas and Philadelphia. MasterCard customers can purchase tickets starting on Sept. 22, with tickets becoming available for Netflix members on Sept. 29. The public can buy them starting on Oct. 1. General admission is $39, while children’s tickets for ages three to 12 are $34. There’s also a VIP package, which is $89 on Monday through Friday and $99 on Friday through Sunday. VIP access lets guests visit the Netflix VIP lounge, get an exclusive themed gift, and enjoy priority entry — this presumably means skipping the lines.
Earlier this year, Netflix announced that a sequel film to KPop Demon Hunters is on the way from Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans. That said, it will probably be a while. Initial reports said the film would be ready by 2029, but a Sony Pictures Animation boss said in an interview that this is unlikely, given how long these films take to produce.
