Netflix is picking up another sitcom from NBC. We can now report that the hit mockumentary series St. Denis Medical will be joining the Netflix US library on April 1st, 2026. The news comes as season 2 continues to air new episodes weekly throughout March, and the series has already been renewed for season 3.
This marks the second major NBC comedy acquisition for April 1st, as the series will arrive alongside the Reba McEntire sitcom Happy’s Place. While NBC titles primarily go to live on Peacock after their initial airing on NBC, we have seen over the years that NBC Universal uses Netflix to boost their shows profiles, and we believe that’s what’s happening here.
What is St. Denis Medical about?
If you missed the first season on NBC or Peacock, St. Denis Medical is a mockumentary-style workplace comedy set in an underfunded, overworked Oregon hospital. The show follows the doctors and nurses as they navigate the daily chaos of healthcare while trying to maintain their own sanity.
The series boasts a stellar comedic cast, led by Wendi McLendon-Covey (The Goldbergs) as Joyce, the hospital’s ambitious executive director, and David Alan Grier as Ron, a seasoned but cynical doctor.
Allison Tolman, Josh Lawson, Kahyun Kim, Mekki Leeper, and Kaliko Kauahi round out the cast.
The show was co-created by Justin Spitzer and Eric Ledgin, the creative duo behind the fan-favorite series Superstore, which has also enjoyed long-term success on Netflix in various regions, though it has not yet made its way to Netflix US.
When will St. Denis Medical be on Netflix?
As of right now, St. Denis Medical is only confirmed for Netflix US. All episodes of Season 1, consisting of 18 episodes, are confirmed to be available starting April 1st, 2026.
The series has already been a steady performer for NBC, and with its arrival on Netflix, it is expected to find a massive “second life” among subscribers who prefer binge-watching over weekly broadcasts. Whether this licensing deal will extend to international Netflix territories remains to be seen, but we will keep you updated as we learn more.
