With the release of Onimusha: Way of the Sword, Capcom brings its famous samurai action series from the PS2 era to modern audiences. Featuring the iconic historical figure Miyamoto Musashi as the protagonist, this new Onimusha game, as Giovanni Colantonio explains in his review for Polygon, “tests you at every turn, pitting you against ruthless bosses that never stop pressing the attack. Those duels are an endurance test that have you conserving your stamina to maintain your blocking power, while chipping away at your opponent’s to deliver a critical strike.”

- 12 a.m. EDT on Friday, Sept. 4 for the east coast of North America
- 1 a.m. BRT on Friday, Sept. 4 for Brazil
- 5 a.m. BST on Friday, Sept. 4 for the U.K.
- 6 a.m. CEST on Friday, Sept. 4 for western Europe

Onimusha: Way of the Sword pre-order bonuses
Capcom is offering a different set of pre-order bonuses depending on which version of Onimusha: Way of the Sword you purchase. Here’s what you get with each one:
- Standard edition: Lion Dog charm and Sealed Curse sword appearance.
- Deluxe edition: Lion Dog charm, White Monkey charm, Sealed Curse sword appearance, and White Lion sword appearance.
