Over 150 vendors and a stunning fireworks display will take over this Toronto celebration next month

25 February 20263 Mins Read

Toronto’s anniversary is coming up, and to honour the occasion, an exciting festival is taking over Nathan Phillips Square with a fireworks show to wrap it all up. Here’s what to know about Celebrate Toronto this March.

If you’re looking for a little excitement this upcoming month, make your way to Nathan Phillips Square on March 7, 2026. From 3 to 10 p.m., the popular tourist destination will transform into an all-day festival.

Toronto is celebrating its 192nd anniversary, and Celebrate Toronto, the non-profit organization in charge of the festivities, aims to showcase the heart and soul of the city’s diverse and vibrant culture.

“We collaborate with local artists, entertainers and businesses in celebrating Toronto’s ‘Past, Present, and Future’ while bringing together over 10,000 attendees to celebrate the city’s culture, diversity, and creativity,” shares organizers.

What to expect

Attendees are in for a full day of excitement as the square will host over 150 local vendors offering unique arts, handmade creations and more. On top of that, there will be food stalls offering a delicious variety of eats, along with a licensed bar area with craft brews.

And of course, what’s Nathan Phillips Square without skating? Glide across the ice rink during the Mirvish Productions DJ Skate Party. Skaters are encouraged to dress up as their favourite theatre characters, “paying tribute to the theatre company that has helped define live entertainment in Toronto for generations,” shares organizers.

Expect live music all night to keep the fun going. You’ll want to stick around well into the evening as Celebrate Toronto will set off a stunning fireworks show that will light up Toronto City Hall. That’s happening right at 9 p.m.

The best part about this is that the festival is free to attend and open to all.

So celebrate Toronto the best way we know how – good food, great music and all the best vibes.

Celebrate Toronto

When: March 8, 2026
Time: 3 to 10 p.m.
Where: Nathan Phillips Square — 100 Queen St. W.
Cost: Free
