ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – Rapper Kodak Black was booked into the Orlando County Jail on Wednesday on a drug trafficking charge that stemmed from a November incident, according to court records.
The 28-year-old rapper, whose real name is Bill Kapri, faces charges of trafficking in MDMA, a synthetic drug, according to an arrest warrant affidavit.

The backstory:
In November, police officers were called to the Children’s Safety Village in Orlando after multiple people reported hearing gunshots in the area.
When officers arrived, they found a BMW SUV and a Lamborghini SUV parked outside with several people gathered around them. According to the report, officers smelled marijuana coming from the vehicles and began searching them.

While searching one of the vehicles, a man, later identified as Kapri, approached officers and began observing the search, the affidavit said.
Inside the Lamborghini, officers said they found a $100 bill with a “white powdery substance” on it next to a pink pair of scissors that was seen in a photo on Kodack Black’s Instagram account the week before. They also found rings on the floorboard of the vehicle that match rings worn by the rapper, the document said.
Officers also said they found a pink bag in the passenger seat of the SUV that had a substance later identified as MDMA, $37,000 dollars and multiple documents with the name Bill Kapri on them.
The bag was also seen in a photo on Kodak Black’s Instagram account, investigators said.
