Santa needs help from his naughty list
Christmas has come early for Reacher and War Machine star Alan Ritchson. His hit Prime Video television series Reacher was renewed for a sixth season just days after the season 4 finale streamed, and the show has become one of the streaming service’s biggest hits. While a release date for season 5 hasn’t been announced yet, Ritchson will return to Prime Video in December as he teams up with Arnold Schwarzenegger to save Christmas.
It’s an unexpected collaboration between two of Hollywood’s biggest action stars, although both actors have plenty of comedy background.
Schwarzenegger returns to Christmas comedy
Prime Video dropped the first teaser trailer for The Man with the Bag on Wednesday, showing Schwarzenegger as Santa Claus on a mission to recover his magic bag so he can deliver gifts. The bag was stolen by a disgruntled elf (Awkwafina), so Santa needs to pull off a heist of his own with the help of Vance (Ritchson), a thief he finds on his “naughty list.” Vance assembles a crew of other criminal misfits, while Santa gets some extra help from the reindeer.
The Man with the Bag is the first Christmas movie Schwarzenegger has made since he feuded with Sinbad in Brian Levant’s 1996 comedy Jingle All the Way. Ritchson previously showed off his action comedy chops opposite Kevin James in Luke Greenfield’s Playdate, which was released on Prime Video in November 2025.
Adam Shankman (The Pacifier, Disenchanted) directs The Man with the Bag with a script by Allan Rice. The film is rated PG, so you can enjoy the heist antics with the kids. That makes it very different from Reacher season 5, which series creator Lee Child says is “not fit for family consumption.”
The Man with the Bag begins streaming on Prime Video on Dec. 2.
