‘Roommates’ Debuts Low, ‘XO, Kitty’ Week 3 Numbers & ‘War Machine’ To Enter All-Time Top 10

22 April 202610 Mins Read

Welcome back to another deep dive into the Netflix Top 10s! For the week of April 13th to April 19th, 2026, the charts are painting a fascinating picture of unexpected surges and surprising stumbles. While international titles like France’s Bandi and South Africa’s 180 are showing massive momentum, some highly anticipated English-language returns are facing a much tougher crowd. From the unexpectedly quiet debut of BEEF Season 2 to the nepotism-fueled discourse surrounding the teen comedy Roommates—not to mention War Machine aggressively marching its way into the all-time record books—there is a ton of ground to cover. Let’s break down the biggest winners, the steadiest holds, and the most notable drops of the week.

Apologies for the lateness of this top 10 report! Netflix was super slow to update its site last night, and even this morning, its downloads still aren’t working.

We did manage to get one big story about the top 10s this week, and that’s the fact that BEEF returned for its second season and made the second-worst debut for an English-language series of the year, and has really been struggling in the top 10s. It’s down about 60% from season 1, with the first season eventually getting good word of mouth, so we’ll see if that plays out again here.

Documentaries had a busy week in the new releases, but not all managed to break into the top 10s. Sadly, A Gorilla Story: Told By David Attenborough was notably absent, as was the latest Untold entry and Noah Kahan: Out of Body.

Now, onto the other big stories!

Let’s see how this week ranks against Netflix’s prior weeks in the top 10s:

  • English TV: 35,000,000 views (Rank 129 of 148 weeks)
  • English Film: 77,900,000 views (Rank 64 of 148 weeks)
  • Non-English TV: 28,700,000 views (Rank 69 of 148 weeks)
  • Non-English Film: 22,700,000 (Rank 123 of 148 weeks)

1. Roommates put in a fairly low debut

Screeners weren’t sent out for this movie, which is never a good sign in advance, but the end result was that it actually got a lot of warm reviews despite being an obvious punching bag for nepotism involving Sandler’s daughters and Ted Sarandos’ sons, who both worked on the flick.

Amongst peers in the same genres over the last few years, it ranks towards the bottom of the pile with 8.8M views for its 15.7M hours, good enough for third spot on the charts.

Netflix Viewership Data – 1 Week Analysis

Title Cumulative Views (1 weeks) Rank
Senior Year 29,400,000 1
Family Switch 22,200,000 2
Tall Girl 2 16,100,000 3
Love at First Sight 14,100,000 4
Do Revenge 13,200,000 5
You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah 12,300,000 6
Incoming 9,900,000 7
Roommates 8,800,000 8
Along for the Ride 6,000,000 9
Metal Lords 5,300,000 10

Stacked up against other 2026 premieres, however, the movie currently ranks last, with just shy of 4 million fewer views than Tyler Perry’s Joe’s College Road Trip.

Netflix Viewership Data – 1 Week Analysis

Title Cumulative Views (1 weeks) Rank
The Rip 41,600,000 1
War Machine 39,300,000 2
Thrash 37,700,000 3
Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man 25,300,000 4
People We Meet on Vacation 17,200,000 5
Joe’s College Road Trip 12,500,000 6
Roommates 8,800,000 7

2. Thrash vs Other Hit 2026 Movies

Last week, we covered the excellent debut for Thrash, and in week two, viewing hours declined 8%, which is a pretty good hold for a genre like this, but you can see it’s more frontloaded than two of the other action movie launches of 2026, despite being in touching distance in week 1.

3. War Machine Should Enter All-Time Top 10

Alan Ritchson War MachineAlan Ritchson War Machine

While on the subject of War Machine, let’s check in with its progress against Damsel for that #10 spot in Netflix’s all-time most-watched list. Well, it should get there. It’s been close for weeks, but the movie has much better staying power than Damsel and will likely knock it from its #10 spot, and we can even safely say it will push down The Gray Man. Will it be able to take the #8 spot from Leave the World Behind? That’s a little less clear right now.

By our estimates, War Machine should end up somewhere in the 137 million to 139 million views range. As a reminder, Damsel ended its run with 138M views and The Gray Man with 139.3M views. Super super close.

4. Where is that XO, Kitty Season 4 Renewal?

We’re now three weeks into the XO, Kitty season 3 run in the top 10s, and the series suffered a 61% drop in viewing hours this past week and while the gap started small between prior seasons in week 1, it’s become a bit more pronounced this many weeks in but still nothing to be concerned about for a season 4 renewal, at least in our opinion.

As of right now, season 3 is currently behind season 2 by 12% and season 1 by 27%. Very good holds, but we suspect we might be closing in on a final season in either season 4 or 5.

Netflix Viewership Data – 3 Week Analysis

Title Cumulative Views (3 weeks) Rank
XO Kitty – Season 1 32,600,000 1
XO Kitty – Season 2 27,100,000 2
XO Kitty – Season 3 23,700,000 3

5. Bandi from France is a win!

The French series Bandi is on a charge, with viewing hours jumping 150% in its second week in the charts and showing strong momentum in the daily top 10s around the world. There aren’t too many French series releases on a Thursday to compare it to, but it’s doing quite well, though naturally nowhere near the heights of Lupin.

Netflix Viewership Data – 2 Week Analysis

Title Cumulative Views (2 weeks) Rank
Lupin – Part 3 25,700,000 1
Women at War 8,000,000 2
Bandi – Season 1 7,300,000 3
The 7 Lives of Lea 4,400,000 4
Cash Queens – Season 1 4,000,000 5

6. Bloodhounds Season 1 vs Season 2

We haven’t covered the K-drama return of Bloodhounds in our top 10 reports yet, but let’s right that wrong now, and it’s an interesting race so far. While season 2 started a little above season 1 in the opening weeks, that gap has now closed down significantly to the point where they’re neck and neck in week 3. Overall, a very good return 3 years down the line.

7. 180 for South Africa

Elsewhere on the English movie chart, Netflix’s new South African action movie 180 managed to take the second spot and with its debut of 9.5M views, that gives it second spot on Netflix’s movie launches from the region on a Friday.

Netflix Viewership Data – 1 Week Analysis

Title Cumulative Views (1 weeks) Rank

180 9,500,000 2

Wild Is the Wind 4,200,000 5
iNumber Number: Jozi Gold 2,100,000 6
Amandla 1,300,000 7

8. The Law According to Lidia Poët from Netflix Italy and Fake Profile from Columbia

Back for its third and final season, the Italian period drama has had a solid lifetime run on Netflix, but the writing was firmly on the wall. As we covered during the Season 2 launch, the series suffered a massive viewership drop from its breakout first season, making it incredibly lucky to secure a Season 3 renewal at all. Looking at the opening numbers, Netflix’s decision to cap the series here was definitely the right call, with Season 3 debuting slightly lower than its predecessor.

Netflix Viewership Data – 1 Week Analysis

Title Cumulative Views (1 weeks) Rank
The Law According to Lidia Poët – Season 1 5,900,000 1
The Law According to Lidia Poët – Season 2 2,200,000 2
The Law According to Lidia Poët – Season 3 2,000,000 3

The same story is true for Fake Profile, from Columbia which returned for its third season and continued its decline to an even greater extent.
