Scandic plans to open a new franchise hotel in Finnsnes, in the Arctic region of Northern Norway, in summer 2028. The hotel will operate under the Scandic brand through a franchise agreement with Norlandia Hotel Group and will offer 154 rooms, a restaurant, and meeting facilities.
Finnsnes is known as the gateway to the island of Senja. The new hotel will be the second franchise property in a short period to be operated in collaboration with Norlandia Hotel Group. The franchise agreement allows the hotel to operate under the Scandic brand while being managed by Norlandia Hotel Group as franchisee.
Senjen Holding owns the hotel property and adjacent commercial properties totaling 14,000 square meters. The company aims to develop the Finnsnes town center into a modern urban district, with the hotel project forming part of this initiative. The hotel is expected to be certified with the Nordic Swan Ecolabel, in line with the majority of Scandic’s hotels.
Finnsnes is a stop on the Hurtigruten coastal route and is located in an area with a varied coastal climate and rich wildlife. The hotel will be included in Scandic’s environmental initiatives, which also apply to franchise hotels.
