If it wasn’t already enough to be good enough at baseball to go pro, Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Dylan Cease also happens to be an actual artist. He’s known for his colourful, almost graffiti-style canvases — and it looks like the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO) is taking notice.
On Wednesday, the AGO posted a teaser image to their Instagram page, showing a stack of black shirts with an AGO logo plus an X on them, topped with a baseball. Fans immediately started speculating that the post might be alluding to a collaboration with Cease — speculation that was pretty much confirmed once the Blue Jays player shared the post to his Instagram story with a thinking face emoji.

No other info was shared by the AGO, other than a caption stating, “Mark your calendars. 08.25.26.”
If there is a special exhibition featuring Cease’s art in the works, it will likely revolve around the Toronto-themed paintings he’s recently been creating. In August, one such painting sold for $16,000 during the Sportsnet Jays Care Broadcast Auction.

Cease only joined the Blue Jays back in December of 2025, signing a seven-year, $210 million contract with the team. Clearly, Toronto has become something of a muse for him in his short time here so far!
Fans of the Jays (or just fans of fun art) will have to stay tuned for more details on what exactly Cease is cooking up with the AGO.
