The Charleston Place, located at the intersection of King, Market, and Meeting Streets in Charleston’s historic district, has completed the next phase of its ongoing renovation project, which totals more than $150 million. The latest updates include a reimagined Club Level, a rooftop pool experience with a garden bar called Perch, a redesigned arrival area, and refreshed guest rooms and suites.

The new rooftop pool and garden bar, Perch, is reserved exclusively for hotel guests and features a saltwater swimming pool and indoor and outdoor dining areas. The pool area offers hourly amenities such as breakfast pastries, mini acai cups, chilled towels, seasonal fruit, aloe vera juice, after-sun care, and a daily signature cocktail and mocktail in the evening. A complimentary amenity station offers infused water and sunscreen.

Dining at Perch includes a menu featuring crudo, stone fruit salads, grilled local produce, lobster rolls, turkey clubs, and caprese, along with wines, cocktails, and spirit-free options.

The reimagined Club Level, situated on the seventh and eighth floors, includes 75 renovated guest rooms and a two-story Club Lounge reserved for Club Level guests. The Club Level offers butler service, pre-arrival communication, itinerary building, curbside greetings, and personalized touches. The Club Lounge provides complimentary culinary presentations throughout the day, including breakfast, family-style lunch, afternoon fare, hors d’oeuvres, cocktails, dinner, desserts, and cordials. Menus change daily and incorporate seasonal and local influences. Each evening at 4:30 p.m., the Butler’s Evening Pour delivers a signature cocktail or glass of wine directly to guest rooms.

The hotel’s arrival area has been redesigned with a formal iron gate and crepe myrtles, while the bronze horse sculptures remain in a new location. Guest rooms and suites have been updated with a calming color palette, millwork, brass light fixtures, custom carpets with ironwork patterns, and artwork reflecting Lowcountry landscapes. Each room includes a walk-in shower or soaking tub, master-controlled lighting, flat-screen television, mini refrigerator, writing desk, wireless internet, and USB charging outlets at the desk and nightstands.

The refresh of all 419 guest rooms, including 56 suites, is expected to be completed in 2026, with reimagined rooms currently available for booking. The property’s renovation will continue in additional phases, with further updates planned for the lobby and public spaces.
