There’s an eco-friendly block party and market in Edmonton for Earth Day

20 April 20263 Mins Read

Earth Day is coming up this Wednesday, April 22, and we’ve found the best way to celebrate in Edmonton.

On Sunday, April 26, Earth’s Refillery Coop is holding a community block party and market focused on all things reduced, reused, and recycled. If you aren’t familiar with Earth’s Refillery Coop and Cafe, it’s Edmonton’s community-owned hub for not only reusing and refilling, but connecting as well.

If you’re ready to celebrate all things eco-friendly this week, there’s no doubt that you should head on over to this amazing community event.

Eco-friendly tips and tricks

Ahead of the event, if you’re looking to find more ways to get eco-friendly and support the environment, we’ve got a couple of tips and tricks up our sleeves for you.

The City of Edmonton actually has a Reuse Centre. This centre offers reusable items to Edmonton residents free of charge, and you can also donate items you don’t use to be reused by others. There are some caveats to this, those being that the items must be in good, clean condition.

Not to mention, there are many swap events that happen throughout the year at the centre. Coming up on May 16, there’s a beach towel and blanket swap happening right here in Edmonton.

It might be worth making a stop at the centre before the event, or even for Earth Day itself!

Speaking of, Earth Day is the perfect event to reduce the amount of waste you produce. It’s as easy as using a reusable shopping bag or as big as going to clean up local parks yourself.

Following the big day on Wednesday, this block party will be held on Sunday, April 26, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Entry is free; all you have to do is show up! For the event itself, there’s going to be live music, market vendors, interactive workshops, and so much more. Workshops will be held indoors in case of weather mishaps.

If you’re ready to make your mark, head on out this eco-friendly holiday.

When: Sunday, April 26, 2026
Time: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: 10831 95th St., Edmonton, Alta.
Cost: Free
