Forgetmenot Pond is known for its crystal-clear, serene waters and beautiful mountain surroundings. The pond sits within Elbow-Sheep Wildland Provincial Park, and offers visitors a quiet, peaceful environment that’s just a short drive from the city.

The short walking path that surrounds the pond is perfect for a short stroll that is accessible for everyone. As you walk alongside the water, you will find plenty of scenic views and amazing photo spots.

If you’re an animal lover, this is a very popular spot to see wildlife, with birds and other animals often appearing in the surrounding areas! With that being said, remember to always be vigilant when in the mountains, bring bear spray and make noise!

Things to do at the pond

In addition to the scenic walking path along the water, Forgetmenot Pond offers several amenities that make it easy to spend the full day outdoors.

Visitors can enjoy picnic areas and fire pits, making it a great place to take in the mountain views.

The pond is also a popular spot for fishing, kayaking, and canoeing, with its calm water that’s perfect for a relaxing paddle.

Best Time to Visit

Forgetmenot pond shines from late spring through until early fall. May and June offer amazing, lush green scenery and peaceful walks, while summer is perfect for water activities and relaxing picnics near the shore. During the fall, the leaves transition to bright reds and oranges, making it every photographer’s ideal backdrop for pictures.

Visiting earlier in the day will ensure a quieter experience, as the crowds can pick up during the afternoon hours. Later in the day, the pond is perfect for water activities when temperatures are usually at their warmest.

If you’re looking for a peaceful outdoor escape right outside of the city, Forgetmenotpond delivers.

With easily accessible trails, picnic spots, and calm water surrounded by the beautiful Rocky Mountains, it’s the perfect destination for a day trip this spring!
