This multi-venue film festival coming to Edmonton will feature over 120 films

10 September 20263 Mins Read

The Edmonton International Film Festival is back for more action this month, bringing along a load of excellent films across two venues in the city.

Returning for 10 days this September is the 40th annual Edmonton International Film Festival. Edmonton’s annual festival works on highlighting the incredible and diverse films from around the world. With films curated from submissions and solicited from distributors, this festival showcases high-quality films and presents a series of filmmaker chats, Q&As, gala screenings, local filmmaker spotlights, and more opportunities for film-lovers and makers.

What to expect from the Edmonton International Film Festival

Once again, this festival will be running at two venues from Sept. 24 to Oct. 3. These locations will be Landmark Cinemas in Edmonton City Centre and the historic Metro Cinema at the Garneau Theatre.

All-Access passes are back, and they offer some great new perks this year. The All-Access pass gets individuals one ticket to everything, based on availability. Individuals are recommended to book their tickets early to avoid individual tickets selling out. This year, the purchase of the pass comes with a pass to the Creative Screen Business Summit.

The pass will also include a physical pass for memorabilia or daily use.

If you only want to see a few films or have a couple of friends who want to tag along, you might be interested in the 6-Pack tickets EIFF is offering. This pack works as six individual tickets to regular-priced ($15) films, but they are not valid for Lunchbox Shorts or Gala films.

For those casual viewers, individual tickets to films start at $15 and are already available online.

As for the movies this year, some of the feature films being shown at the festival include California Schemin’, Manhunt, and Queens for a Day. If you want to take a look at the full schedule of films complete with movie descriptions, we’d suggest checking out the festival’s website.

Are you ready to eat some popcorn and watch some movies? We sure are. But we’d suggest getting your tickets as soon as possible, as, according to the festival, tickets are already selling fast.

When: Thursday, Sept. 24, to Saturday, Oct. 3, 2026
Time: Various times
Where: Landmark Cinemas 9 City Centre — 10200 102nd Ave. NW, Edmonton; Metro Cinema — 8712 109th St. NW, Edmonton
Cost: Tickets starting at $15
