This Toronto street will shut down for a three-day festival

17 July 20262 Mins Read

One of Toronto’s most popular summer traditions is officially back in The Beaches, bringing live music and hundreds of visitors to Queen Street East for three nights of entertainment.

The Beaches Jazz StreetFest, part of the month-long Beaches Jazz Festival, returns next week with a bunch of live performances, transforming a stretch of Queen Street East between Woodbine Avenue and Beech Avenue into a pedestrian-only zone.

Rather than gathering around a single stage, festivalgoers can stroll along Queen Street East, where dozens of musical acts will perform in spots hosted by local businesses.

This year’s entertainment lineup features 36 bands performing at venues including Jugo Juice, The Gull Firkin & Pub, Fire Hall, and other locations along the major street.

Guests can expect performances by local groups such as ’80s cover band Storm The Palace, classic rock cover band Bone Yard, and many more. You can view a complete list of performers on the event’s official website.

The festival will, of course, also feature food vendors and market stalls, giving attendees plenty of opportunities to explore the neighbourhood and do a little shopping while enjoying the music.

Beaches Jazz StreetFest takes place from July 23 to 25 and is completely free to attend, making it one of Toronto’s signature summer events for anyone looking to spend time outdoors, immersed in jazz and other music genres.

Keep in mind that Queen Street East between Woodbine Avenue and Beech Avenue will be closed nightly during the three-day festival.

Organizers say the street will shut down to vehicles beginning at 6 p.m. each evening, with performances running from 7 p.m. until 11 p.m., so expect traffic disruptions and plan your route accordingly.
