The summer heat is fast approaching — and already upon us in parts of the U.S. It’s hard to believe June is here.

That means frozen delicacies are becoming all the more popular as shoppers peruse grocery stores. Luckily, Trader Joe’s just brought back a summer staple that fans are simply eating up — literally.

The frozen Key Lime Pie has returned yet again, and shoppers have taken to social media to express their excitement.

In addition to the reliable Trader Joe’s-focused Instagram accounts plugging the pie’s recent return, Redditors are also on top of it. Just look at the thread started just last week titled, “Trader Joe’s “Key lime pie” has no business being that good.”

Per the item’s packaging, the popular chain recommends defrosting and then serving — but one user commented on the Reddit thread, “Straight out of the freezer is the move.” What are your thoughts?

Key Lime Pie is described as a “treasure of the Florida Keys,” per Trader Joe’s online product description, which continues in part, “We know for certain it originated in Key West in the 1850’s, and we know the key to the magic was (and is) canned sweetened condensed milk, which allowed cooks without easy access to refrigeration to quickly and easily make treats like ice cream or custard.”

The description goes on, “As tradition dictates, Trader Joe’s Key Lime Pie is made with sweetened condensed milk and true Key lime juice. Unlike other lime juices, Key lime juice is pale yellow in color. Some pies bearing the Key Lime name are bright green – we can assure you that this is not a natural occurrence, but rather the result of the inclusion of artificial color. The filling of our Key Lime Pie is pale yellow, just as it should be. It’s nestled in a classic graham cracker crust and arrives in a naked state, awaiting your meringue or whipped cream topping.”
