Thomas Rhett's New Duet Partner Set for Grand Ole Opry Debut

Niall Horan is headed to country music’s most famous stage.

The former One Direction star, who recently teamed up with Thomas Rhett on a revamped version of Rhett’s hit song “Old Tricks,” will make his Grand Ole Opry debut on July 7 as part of the Opry’s ongoing 100th anniversary celebration.

The Irish singer-songwriter’s appearance marks another major milestone in a solo career that has seen him become one of the music industry’s biggest global stars since One Direction’s rise to fame. Horan has sold more than 90 million records worldwide and scored multiple hit albums and singles, including the triple-Platinum smash “Slow Hands.”

In recent years, Horan also became a familiar face to television audiences as a coach on NBC’s long-running singing competition series The Voice. He joined the show in 2023 and quickly found success, coaching Gina Miles to victory in his first season before later returning for two additional seasons of the show.

The Opry appearance also comes as Horan promotes his fourth solo studio album, Dinner Party, which was released earlier this year through Capitol Records.

Horan and Rhett are scheduled to co-headline two stadium concerts this summer, including a July 9 performance at Nashville’s GEODIS Park and a July 18 show at Hersheypark Stadium in Pennsylvania. The collaboration has introduced Horan to an even larger country audience as he continues to expand his musical horizons.

The July 7 show is part of the Grand Ole Opry’s yearlong centennial celebration. Other artists scheduled to appear in the coming weeks include Opry members Chris Young, Lorrie Morgan, Rhonda Vincent, Gene Watson, Chris Janson, Steven Curtis Chapman and The Isaacs, as well as Tanya Tucker, Dennis Quaid, Tori Kelly and Charlie Worsham.

Following his Opry debut, Horan will launch his Dinner Party Live On Tour on Sept. 22 in Birmingham, England. The arena tour will travel across Europe before beginning its North American leg in March 2027.

For country music fans, Horan’s Opry debut offers a chance to see one of pop music’s biggest stars step onto one of Nashville’s most revered stages for the very first time.
