Toronto’s coolest rollerskating trail is returning for another summer of four-wheeled fun, Canada Reviews

Rollerskating is returning to Toronto in a big way. The Bentway is bringing its 220-metre figure-eight rollerskating trail back to Toronto from Aug. 7 through Sept. 27.

The popular summer happening includes events including skate parties, beginner lessons, art workshops, family programming, and the launch of a new after school program for young city-builders.

“The energy of the World Cup doesn’t end with the final match–it lives on in the public spaces where people continue to gather, play, and connect,” says Anna Gallagher-Ross, Director of Programming at The Bentway.

“Whether you’re lacing up roller skates for the first time, making art with friends old and new, taking your family on a Dino Run, or discovering a new perspective on Toronto through our After School program, we’ve designed experiences for people of all ages that celebrate movement, creativity, exploration, and time spent together in public space.”

The season begins Aug. 7 with the return of The Bentway’s Roller Skate Party, which is presented alongside BEATS + SKATES and The Melanin Skate Crew. The free event will bring the Skate Trail to life with DJs, live art, skate performances, local vendors and plenty of energy to launch the summer season. There is also a limited 2-for-1 skate rental offer while supplies last.

New skaters can join weekly Roller Skate Lessons every Friday night through September, with beginner-friendly sessions focused on learning the basics and gaining confidence on wheels.

Families can join the fun during Dino Run at The Bentway on Aug. 22 and Sept. 19. The Skate Trail will transform into a prehistoric playground featuring dinosaur experts, storytelling, games and a family-friendly adventure around the track.
