TRUNK(HOTEL) SAPPORO will be the brand’s fourth hotel and its first location outside Tokyo. The hotel will have 18 suites and 89 standard rooms. Guest room design will follow a “Midcentury Folklore” theme and incorporate Hokkaido natural landscapes and artisan traditions.
Tokyo-based architecture and design studio GENERAL DESIGN CO., LTD. and TRUNK’s in-house creative team, TRUNK Atelier, are designing the hotel. The design incorporates references to Hokkaido’s history, culture, natural environment and local spirit.
The hotel will include TRUNK(BATH HOUSE), the brand’s first spa and bath facility. The facility will occupy a dedicated floor and include a reception lounge and bar, a 40-meter waterway and 10 shared bathing areas. The bathing areas will use different lighting, sound and water temperatures. Separate men’s and women’s bathing zones will include communal baths, saunas, cold plunges and open-air relaxation spaces.
Sushi Saito will open its first Sapporo location at the hotel. The restaurant will combine Tokyo sushi techniques with Hokkaido ingredients. The hotel will also include a LOUNGE & BAR with live piano and band performances, all-day dining, drinks and an outdoor terrace. Transparent domes will be used for winter dining on the terrace.
An all-day dining restaurant on the same floor as the LOUNGE & BAR will serve seasonal Hokkaido ingredients.
The hotel will offer spaces for private celebrations, business events and presentations across two floors. The Private Studio will include a cinema, private karaoke room and multifunction room for gatherings.
Three banquet halls on the 10th and 11th floors will include HINATA, MIYABI and KODACHI. The event spaces will include a dessert room, private sushi counter and outdoor terrace with a pizza oven.
