Fairmont New Orleans has opened reservations for stays beginning Nov. 2 ahead of the hotel’s opening in New Orleans’ Central Business District.
Fairmont New Orleans will occupy 17 stories of the former Bank of New Orleans building in New Orleans’ Central Business District. Skidmore, Owings & Merrill originally designed the 31-story building in 1970. The hotel is near the French Quarter and Caesars Superdome.
Kailas Companies developed the property, which will have 250 guest rooms and suites. It will be Fairmont’s 19th property in the United States.
The hotel will include restaurant and bar venues in partnership with Chef Emeril Lagasse and his team. Delmonico Steakhouse is planned for the lobby. Other venues include Third Measure, a rooftop bar, and Bleu Perdu, a rooftop poolside lounge.
Fairmont New Orleans will feature the city’s highest rooftop pool and lounge, with views of the Mississippi River. The property will also include a 10,000-square-foot spa with three treatment rooms, a couples suite, dry sauna, steam room and fitness studio.
The hotel will offer more than 19,000 square feet of meeting and event space, including two 4,000-square-foot ballrooms on the second floor, each with dedicated foyer space, six meeting rooms and an executive boardroom. The facilities are designed to accommodate gatherings of 10 to 500 guests.
One ballroom will be located within the former bank interiors and retain a local cypress wood ceiling. The space will also include Italian-inspired chandeliers dating to the 1970s. The meeting rooms and boardrooms will include Spanish moss-inspired wallcoverings, walnut wood and velvet upholstery.
Rockwell Group designed the property’s interiors, which reference New Orleans’ built and natural environments through architectural lines, layered textures, color and organic materials. The lobby will include a central Lobby Bar, plus areas for reception and lounging.
The hotel will also offer Fairmont Gold, a hotel-within-a-hotel experience.
