Usha Vance Shares Never-Before-Seen, Candid Family Photos for JD Vance's 42nd Birthday

Vice President JD Vance celebrated his 42nd birthday on August 2—and Second Lady Usha Vance honored her husband with a series of sweet never-before-seen snapshots. 

Just two weeks after giving birth to her fourth child, son Alec Neel Vance, Usha has something else to celebrate. The VP turned 42, and while the pair didn’t reveal how they were celebrating JD’s birthday, they did share a sneak peek into their family’s life. 

Along with a simple Bday message, reading, “Wishing @VP the happiest of birthdays! We love you,” the SLOTUS’s Instagram post featured two precious pics. 

The happy couple appears in a rare dressed-down moment, gently petting a baby chick in the first photo. The second image in the Second Lady’s carousel is a cute pre-baby candid of a very pregnant Usha, the couple’s three older children (nine-year-old Ewan, six-year-old Vivek, and four-year-old Mirabel), and the VP playfully cuddling the family’s German Shepherd, Atlas.

Of course, the Second Lady wasn’t the only one to wish her hubby a happy birthday. The White House also posted an official well-wish (on Instagram): “Happy Birthday to America’s Vice President, JD Vance – a proud champion for the American people!” with a black-and-white photo of the VP laughing it up with Donald Trump.

Even though JD is getting all the attention today, his fourth child, Alec, had the spotlight all to himself back on July 19. The couple revealed their baby news, posting on Instagram, “We are excited to announce that our baby boy, Alec Neel Vance, was born this morning. Usha and the baby are happy and healthy, and our kids are overjoyed to meet their little brother.”

One week later, the Vances gave the world a glimpse of their growing family (after the President shared the first look at baby Alec on Truth Social). The VP and his wife posted their own family photos and the message, “Thank you for all the good wishes as we settle into life as a family of six.”

The Vances weren’t the only Washington, D.C. insiders to share a few BTS family photos on Instagram this weekend. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt also shared a couldn’t-be-cuter carousel of herself, husband Nicholas Riccio, and children two-year-old Niko and newborn Vivi. 

Like Usha’s pics, highlights from Leavitt’s July Instagram dump also include birthday photos. But instead of her hubby, the Press Secretary’s son Niko was the one celebrating.

Leavitt also gave fans a glimpse into her private life, posting adorable images of Niki eating a funnel cake, her toddler and infant daughter snuggling, a family beach trip, and baby Vivi dressed in a patriotic America’s 250th birthday onesie.
