Holiday toy shopping is officially underway, and Barbie is still a classic pick for kids who love pretend play. For parents and gift-givers looking for a bigger toy that can keep little ones entertained, Walmart has a Barbie dollhouse on sale that gives kids a whole home to make their own.
The Barbie Malibu House is now $79 at Walmart, down from $125, making it a budget-friendly way to give any child a full Barbie play setup. The two-story house opens to create a two-feet wide play space that includes six rooms, and over 25 furniture pieces and accessories. The house also has fun features that transform the rooms for even more Barbie adventures.

For kids getting their first Barbie house, this playset packs plenty into one setup. The six-room layout gives kids an entire home to play in, with a kitchen, dining room, living room, bedroom, bathroom and outdoor patio included in the house. The rooms can also offer different setups for play. The living room flips into an entertainment room, while the bathroom vanity opens to reveal a shower and the bedroom ceiling transforms into a bunk bed with room for four Barbie sisters.
The set also comes with a sofa, coffee table, dining table and four chairs, plus place settings, food, bathroom accessories, a sleeping bag and a game board. Kids can move the furniture and accessories around as they create new stories and change up the rooms.
Walmart shoppers say the house is a hit with younger Barbie fans. One reviewer called it “a little girl’s first Barbie house” and said her 5-year-old niece plays with it every day. Another shopper said it was great for her 4-year-old daughter and appreciated that the house folds up for storage or taking along on a trip. A third said the setup was easy enough for their 8-year-old to assemble on their own.
Parents looking for more room can also consider the larger, more expensive Barbie Dreamhouse, which offers additional space and play features. But, for a first Barbie house, the Malibu House offers plenty of fun at a lower price.
The dollhouse is recommended for kids ages 3 and up. Just keep in mind that dolls are sold separately, so be sure to add a Barbie doll to the gift if needed.
