Andy Samberg Comedy Central Animated Series ‘Digman!’ To Make Jump to Netflix

Andy Samberg’s archaeologists-as-rockstars animated series is making a surprising move. We have learned that the first season of the Comedy Central original Digman! is set to arrive on Netflix US next month, marking a significant new licensing deal for the adult animated comedy.

We can confirm that Season 1 of Digman! will be available to stream on Netflix US starting Tuesday, March 17th, 2026. It’s unclear whether season 2, which aired last year, will also be joining; we’ll update this post once we receive confirmation.

The arrival of Digman! on Netflix is the latest example of the shifting landscape in streaming licensing. Originally a Comedy Central production from MTV Entertainment Studios and CBS Studios, the series has been exclusive to Paramount+ until now.

By bringing the show to Netflix, the studios are likely looking to tap into the massive success other licensed animated hits have found on the platform. It joins a growing library of adult animation that Netflix has acquired to supplement its own originals like Big Mouth and BoJack Horseman.

Note: At this time, the deal appears to be exclusive to Netflix US. International availability has not yet been confirmed.

It appears this is part of the licensing pact Netflix announced during its Q4 earnings call, when it confirmed it’d be working with Paramount to bring over its hit titles, including Watson, SEAL Team, and Mayor of Kingstown, among others.

The series is awaiting a full-season 3 renewal. Andy Samberg, in an interview with ScreenRant this February, remained optimistic, telling the outlet, “We don’t know officially, but it’s not dead. It’s still being discussed. And I love that show. I make it with Neil Campbell, and the writers we’ve had are so incredibly funny. That’s a show where I know we’ve done really well by Comedy Central standards. I think they’ve been really happy with it, but it’s something that I’m just always like, “I just wish everyone could see it.” I’m so proud of it, and I laugh so hard making it and watching it. It really just feels like I am always personally searching for things that are joke dense, and really just exist to try and make me laugh. I feel like that’s the mission statement with Digman!. So I hope we get to make more.”

The Lowdown: What is ‘Digman!’ About?

Created by Andy Samberg and Neil Campbell (the duo behind Brooklyn Nine-Nine), Digman! is set in a world where archaeologists are the biggest celebrities and the coolest people on the planet. Think Indiana Jones, but if he were hounded by paparazzi and had a massive ego.

The series follows Rip Digman (voiced by Samberg doing a brilliant, flowery Nicolas Cage impression), a once-legendary adventurer who was fired from the Smithsonian a decade ago. Along with his ambitious assistant Saltine, Rip embarks on a quest for legendary artifacts to reclaim his former glory and prove he’s still the world’s greatest swashbuckling historian.

A Powerhouse Voice Cast

The show features a Brooklyn Nine-Nine reunion of sorts and an incredible roster of guest voices:

  • Andy Samberg as Rip Digman.
  • Mitra Jouhari (Three Busy Debras) as Saltine.
  • Tim Robinson (I Think You Should Leave) as Swooper.
  • Melissa Fumero as Bella.
  • Tim Meadows as Quail Eegan.
  • Guz Khan as Zane Troy.
  • Dale Soules as Agatha.

The first season also boasts an absurdly high-profile guest list, including Daniel Radcliffe, Maya Rudolph, Jane Lynch, Edgar Wright, and Jason Schwartzman.

If you enjoy the fast-paced, reference-heavy humor of Brooklyn Nine-Nine or the absurdist tone of The Lonely Island, Digman! is right up your alley. It’s loud, visually inventive (produced by the animation giants at Titmouse), and features Samberg at his most unhinged.

Will you be digging into Rip Digman’s adventures on March 17th? Let us know in the comments!
