Red Sea Global Announces Opening of Adrena Adventure and Entertainment District

Red Sea Global has announced the opening of Adrena, an adventure and entertainment district at The Red Sea destination, with a public unveiling scheduled for 1 March following a soft launch for invited guests from 15 February.

Red Sea Global will open Adrena, an adventure and entertainment district located a short drive from Shura Island at The Red Sea destination. The district will be unveiled to the public on 1 March, following a soft launch for invited guests starting 15 February. 

Adrena will offer activities including surfing, wakeboarding, cliff diving, and skateboarding. The district will feature a 215-meter-long saltwater surf pool, which will be the largest in Saudi Arabia upon opening, with waves reaching up to 2.1 meters in height and customizable settings based on rider skill level.

Facilities at Adrena will include a wakeboarding lake, snorkel trails, a 6-meter-deep diving pool, a children’s waterplay area, and a floating inflatable obstacle course. Additional amenities include a skate park, a BMX pump track, and beach sports areas for football and volleyball. The district will also feature an overwater zip line and a 10-meter-high “slip ‘n’ fly” slide.

Adrena will provide day and night entertainment options. In the evening, the beach club will offer live DJ music, South American cuisine, and a curated mocktail menu. The district also includes a social hub with a beach club, live music programming, and an infinity pool with views of the Red Sea.

The district is managed by Red Sea Sports & Entertainment Co., which also operates WAMA for water sports, Galaxea for underwater experiences, and Akun for land-based adventures. Adrena is designed to accommodate guests with mobility and accessibility needs, with zero-depth entry at many pools and adaptable options for activities such as bodyboarding, paddleboarding, diving, and snorkeling.

Adrena’s design incorporates a sustainable closed-loop system that draws in seawater, filters and circulates it through the attractions, and then returns it clean and filtered. Freshwater used across the district is reused for irrigation.

The Red Sea destination welcomed its first guests in 2023 and currently has nine hotels open, along with Thuwal Private Retreat off the coast of Jeddah. Red Sea International Airport serves as the gateway to the destination and receives regular domestic and international flights from Riyadh, Jeddah, Dubai, Doha, and Milan.
