Who’s ready to make this week count? Broadway Across Canada is returning with its production of Les Misérables, the Calgary Flames have two games coming up, and it’s not too late to check out the beloved annual Penguin Walk at the Wilder Institute. Here are 10 of the best things to do in and around Calgary this week (March 2-6).

The world’s most popular musical, Les Misérables, will take the Jubilee by storm starting this week. The iconic story follows Jean Valjean, a French convict, on his journey through love, life, and revolution.

When: March 4 to 8, 2026

Produced by Downstage with the support of Hit & Myth Productions, Botticelli in the Fire is a fiery love story by Jordan Tannahill, one of Canada’s most celebrated playwrights. It reimagines Renaissance Florence with elements of modern times, weaving together fascinating narratives into a story that aims to answer the focal question: can art survive the flames?

When: March 4 to 14, 2026

This two-night concert is inspired by the sounds of iconic New York nightclub, Studio 54, and disco lovers won’t want to miss it. Daniel Bartholomew-Poyser conducts the Orchestra and vocalists to play the grooviest hits from Donna Summer, Bee Gees, Gloria Gaynor, Boney M., Diana Ross, Chic, and much more.

Is the way to your heart the sounds of an acoustic guitar? Well, you’ll find plenty of beauty at this musical showcase, which will feature performances by five Alberta-based artists who have decided to collaborate on their songwriting. Participants spent one week with the instrument to write an original piece, and will share their work on stage at the historic King Eddy.

Limited tickets are still available for Anne of Green Gables, the Musical, directed by Jayme Armstrong, which is on until March 15, 2026. The story follows Anne Shirley as she unexpectedly arrives at a small farming community, winning over the hearts of all she meets with her bold spirit.

Dirty Dancing remains an iconic film for a reason, and it’s going to be screened at The Grand this Friday, accompanied by bar snacks, a themed cocktail, and Uncle Fatih’s pizza. Perfect for a movie night that’s outside of the house!
