Discover the fascinating world of reptiles at this expo in Edmonton

27 April 20263 Mins Read

The Edmonton Reptile Expo will be taking over the Enjoy Centre this weekend, and we couldn’t be more excited.

Whether you’re a reptile-fanatic of a curious newcomer, there’s something for everyone at this reptile expo. Here, you can explore an array of snakes, lizards, turtles, amphibians, and invertebrates, all of which are showcased by excellent breeders and knowledgeable experts. You can educate yourself on these creatures and even get the chance to handle them yourself, as well as find everything you’ll need for your scaly friends at home.

What to expect

The Herptile Rescue and Education Foundation kicked off its new venue, The Enjoy Centre, in the fall and is now returning for this spring. As for the expo itself, it’ll take over the venue this weekend with everything slithery and scaley.

At this expo, there will be a diverse array of reptiles and amphibians, which you can learn about and possibly handle yourself. Or, if you’re looking to take a step further, there will be vendors with reptiles you can take home, alongside the supplies and enclosures you’ll need to care for them.

Need more tips before you settle on a new friend? No worries, there are Q&A’s with expert breeders where you can ask for all the tips and tricks you’ll want in your back pocket.

On top of all the reptile shenanigans, there are food trucks serving local favourites, as well as face painting, balloon animals, and hands-on educational experiences for all ages.

As for tickets, admission is $10 per person, with children five and under getting in for free. There is also a family deal for $25, which includes two adults and two children aged between six and 17. To avoid crowds on opening day (Saturday), the foundation recommends families attend in the afternoon to get the most out of activities.

If you’re ready to get your hands on some reptiles, and maybe even take one home, make your way down this weekend.

When: Saturday, May 2, 2026, and Sunday, May 3, 2026
Time: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday
Where: Enjoy Centre — 101 Riel Dr., St. Albert, Alta.
Cost: $10+
