It will soon be time to set sail as Netflix’s The One Piece is real and will premiere on the streaming platform in February 2027. With 50 chapters of the manga being remade by WIT Studio, there will be 5 hours of anime to binge upon release.
First announced at Jump Festa ’24 in December 2023, fans have been waiting for years now for updates on The One Piece beyond storyboards and character designs. Well, the best update we could possibly hope for has happened: Netflix officially confirmed that One Piece will premiere on the platform in February 2027.
It has also been confirmed that there will be only 7 episodes. However, those 7 episodes will cover approximately 50 manga chapters, bringing the story up to the Baratie Arc, where Luffy first encounters Sanji. The total runtime for the seven episodes is approximately 300 minutes. All 7 episodes will be available to stream upon release.

This suggests that more episodes will be released at a later date, as the remake is expected to cover the entirety of the East Blue Saga.
The One Piece is an adaptation of Eiichiro Oda’s manga of the same name, which is now the best-selling comic book of all time, with over 600 million volumes in circulation. The series is animated by WIT Studio, which is famous for animating the first three seasons of Attack on Titan, My Dear Friend Nokotan, Seraph of the End, and Vinland Saga season 1. The remake is directed by Masashi Koizuka, with character designs by the chief animation directors Kyoji Asano and Takatoshi Honda
