IHG Hotels & Resorts has launched an app in ChatGPT, allowing users to search, compare, and explore more than 7,000 IHG hotels in over 100 countries. The app enables ChatGPT users to receive IHG hotel recommendations based on their preferences, with real-time availability, pricing, interactive maps, and amenity information. After selecting a hotel, users are directed to IHG’s direct booking channels to complete their reservation.
IHG will soon introduce conversational search functionality to IHG.com and the IHG One Rewards app. This feature will allow travelers to discover hotels using natural language, without being limited to fixed search fields or keywords. The AI-enabled experience is designed to help guests move from inspiration to reservation using conversational queries.
These developments are part of IHG’s broader technology and AI-driven strategy focused on enhancing the guest experience, boosting hotel performance, and advancing corporate innovation. Research from Phocuswright indicates that more than half of U.S. travelers are now using AI to plan trips.
