Welcome to the first week of July, Edmonton! The city has a ton going on right now, no matter the weather. So it’s time to layer up and take advantage of the longer days. Here are 10 of the best things to do in and around Edmonton this week (June 29-July 3).

The Re/Max Field is coming alive with fans as the Edmonton Riverhawks take on the Bellingham Bells this Tuesday, kicking off a fun-filled week in the city.

When: Tuesday, June 30, 2026

Where: 10233 96th Ave. NW, Edmonton, Alberta
Cost: $26

The Works Art & Design Festival is back, bringing together over 200 artists across 41 exhibits at over a dozen galleries across downtown Edmonton. At the centre of it all is Churchill Square, where 19 exhibits now showcase everything from paintings to immersive, hands-on art experiences. It’s a great place to get your creative juices flowing and support emerging local artists.

When: Until July 1, 2026

Where: Churchill Square and locations across downtown Edmonton
Cost: Free daily tours

This fun event celebrates the talent and artistry of Edmonton’s Métis community, featuring a night of pop hits, drag, and great vibes with Robin Cisek & Pheromone Killz.

When: Friday, July 3, 2026
Time: 8:30 to 11:30 p.m.
Where: 7217 77th Ave., Edmonton, Alta.
Cost: $17.31

Get ready for some major laughs at this year’s Grindstone Comedy Fest at the Grindstone Comedy Theatre & Bistro, and venues across the city. From stand-up to improv and sketch shows, there’s a bit of comedy for everyone here.

When: July 2 to July 12, 2026

Hip-hop icon A$AP Rocky is in town for a high-energy night of music on his Don’t Be Dumb Tour, which pulls up to Rogers Place this Friday, July 3.

Where: 10220 104th Ave., Edmonton, Alta.
Cost: $150.20

The Heritage Amphitheatre in William Hawrelak Park has transformed for this year’s Freewill Shakespeare Fest, which is bringing two charming productions to the stage this summer: SOMETHING ROTTEN! and Much Ado About Nothing. You can’t go wrong with either show!

If you want to end the day on a high note, the City of Edmonton will host a fireworks show launching from Kinsmen Park at 11 p.m. The 18-minute display will stretch across the North Saskatchewan River with plenty of great viewing spots throughout the River Valley, including Queen Elizabeth Park Hill, Victoria Park and Constable Ezio Faraone Park.

The Alberta Railway Museum is celebrating Canada Day with a full day of railway history and hands-on experiences. Visitors can explore historic railway cars, tour the St. Alberta Station and learn more about Alberta’s rail heritage. Grab your family and spend the day exploring, learning, and getting a closer look at Canada’s railway past.

When: Wednesday, July 1, 2026
Time: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Cost:  Starting at $5.15

The Rocky Mountain Icehouse is going all in for Canada Day with a 12-hour DJ-A-THON featuring nonstop music, drink specials and a full party atmosphere from 12 p.m. to midnight. Expect DJs rotating all day long, keeping the vibe fresh whether you show up early or late at night.

Where: 10516 Jasper Ave., Edmonton, Alta.

If you’re familiar with Fort Edmonton Park‘s Where Dark Things Dwell, its highly anticipated sequel has just arrived.

Teams of four will work together in this escape “room” experience to solve puzzles, uncover clues, and complete challenges throughout the park’s 1885 Street, racing to break a mysterious curse before time runs out.

When: Now until Saturday, Sept. 12, 2026
