Vancouver’s largest free music and arts festival will soon take over 10 blocks in Kitsilano

29 June 20263 Mins Read

Vancouver’s largest free music and arts festival is coming up in less than two weeks, and this is one you’ll definitely want to mark your calendars for. Aside from being a part of the city’s cultural fabric, Khatsahlano Street Party is the event of the summer, bringing together people by the thousands for a celebration that takes over West 4th Avenue.

The long-standing tradition brings Vancouver’s best local artists and food vendors to West 4th Avenue in Kitsilano for a massive day party, and this year’s event is slated to be bigger and “more whimsical” than ever.

A surreal window display contest

A first-ever window display contest leading up to the festival has already transformed West 4th into a surreal streetscape, on par with Khatsahlano’s “wonderland” theme for 2026. From now until July 11, people can “wander into wonder,” and cast their votes for their favourite window display, with the winners announced on July 13.

According to the festival’s website, restaurants, bars, and cafes can also participate by creating a wonderland-themed cocktail or beverage.

On the day of the festival, visitors can expect to find over 50 of the city’s finest food trucks, in addition to immersive pop-ups from over 300 West 4th shops and local artisans in the 10-block stretch.

Beverage gardens galore

There will also be no shortage of beverage gardens to keep the good times flowing all day long. This includes beer gardens (Stanley Park Brewing and Vancouver Island Brewing), a special Lambrusco Wine Garden, and a Tacofino Garden with margaritas and tacos, to name just a few.

Zulu Records owner Grant McDonagh told festival organizers that his favourite part of the festivities is the live music.

“This year’s lineup features exciting new artists as well as established sure-fire favourites, all hailing from British Columbia.”

Here are all the artists slated to take the stage at Khatsahlano this year:

Khatsahlano officially makes its way back to West 4th Avenue on Saturday, July 11, 2026.

Pro-tip: Plan to arrive early, walk or use transit if you can, and cap your day off with a snack at Kits Beach!

It’s coming up soon, so mark your calendars.

When: Saturday, July 11, 2026
Time: Noon to 9 p.m.
Where: West 4th Avenue between MacDonald and Burrard Streets
Cost: Free admission
