The creature collector will remain at $29.99
Palworld, the “Pokémon with guns” survival game, has been in early access since January 2024. Last month, developer Pocketpair announced it would finally be Version 1.0 of Palworld on July 10. Like some other early access titles, there was always a chance Palworld‘s $29.99 price would raise when it launched in full. (Its Steam page has stated as much: “The price of the game may increase at or closer to the official release.”)
On Wednesday, Pocketpair announced Palworld would remain at $29.99 “as a small way of saying thank you.” In a post on X, Pocketpair reflected on the game’s success so far. “We are incredibly proud of how far Palworld has come. Thanks to the amazing support of our players, it has become a success beyond our wildest dreams.”
And Palworld has been quite a success, in spite of a lawsuit brought against it by Nintendo and The Pokémon Company that previously resulted in changes to certain game mechanics. Pocketpair announced that 40 million players have now tried out the open-world creature collector. That doesn’t mean 40 million people have bought Palworld as it’s been available for people to check out on Xbox Game Pass. Still, that’s quite the player base for a game that isn’t even three years old yet.
If you’ve yet to play Palworld yourself, now is the perfect time. Not only is Pocketpair about to launch Version 1.0 (bringing new Pals, areas to explore, and more), Palworld is also currently on sale on Steam. Until July 9 at 1:00 p.m. EDT, you can snag it for $20.99, or 30% off.
