As we head into September, Edmonton continues to have the best, most fun things to do, from festivals to escape rooms and even crazy concerts.

There’s a stacked week ahead of us, and we couldn’t be more excited to get into the swing of things. With September coming into fruition, we’re going to have a whole lot more ahead of us these coming fall months. Are you ready for the action? Because we’re absolutely ready to go.

Let’s jump into things, and let’s look at the best things to do this week in Edmonton.

If you’re familiar with Fort Edmonton Park‘s Where Dark Things Dwell, its highly anticipated sequel has arrived.

Teams of four will work together in this escape “room” experience to solve puzzles, uncover clues, and complete challenges throughout the park’s 1885 Street, racing to break a mysterious curse before time runs out.

When: Now until Saturday, Sept. 12, 2026
Time: 6 and 8:30 p.m.
Where: Fort Edmonton Park — 7000 143rd St. NW, Edmonton, Alta.
Cost: $35

The festival offers guided food and mural tours as well as a map of all the murals across Edmonton for individuals to explore themselves, kicking off the fall season with endless creativity. Through this, the festival aims to shed light on the murals that brighten up Edmonton streets, as well as the artists behind them.

When: Now until Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2026

Cost: Free or $49.26 for Mural and Food Tours

You’ll be able to see “Weird Al” bring his legendary full-production multimedia comedy rock show to Rogers Place this week, with his iconic hits and never-before-performed-live fan favorites hitting the stage.

When: Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2026
Time: 7:30 p.m.
Where: 10220 104th Ave. NW, Edmonton, Alta.
Cost: $49+

This outdoor experience will allow you to breathe the fresh air and get your healthy dose of alpaca attention. You’ll be guided through a unique pairing of breath, movement, and meditation during this class. It will leave you feeling equal parts inspired and chill, all while surrounded by a herd of curious alpacas.

When: Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2026
Time: 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Where: 51553 Range Rd. 225A, Sherwood Park, Alta.
Cost: $32

Every week on Wednesdays, The Grindstone hosts one of Edmonton’s only stand-up comedy open mic nights. Open to both first-timers and seasoned comics, each set is five minutes for some good laughs.

Time: 10 p.m. to midnight
Where: Grindstone Theatre — 10019 81st Ave. NW, Edmonton, Alta.
Cost: Free

Located at Salisbury Greenhouse in Sherwood Park, this market comes around every Thursday, rain or shine. You can find a wide variety of offerings here, no matter if it’s food, trinkets, or something entirely different.

When: Every Thursday
Time: 4 to 7 p.m.
Where: 52337 Range Rd. 232, Sherwood Park, Alta.
Cost: Free

124th Grand Market takes over the streets on Thursdays. Each week, there is a selection of over 60 rotating vendors with fresh produce, handmade goods, and trinkets, as well as food trucks that are going to satisfy your taste buds in every way.

When: Every Thursday now until Oct. 18, 2026
Time: 4 to 8 p.m.
Where: 108th Avenue and 124th Street, Edmonton, Alta.
Cost: Free

Get ready for an unforgettable night of laughs at The Grindstone Theatre!

This improv night is an evening of top-tier comedy featuring the city’s best improvisers, performing hilarious, unscripted scenes based on your wildest suggestions.

When: Thursday, Sept.3, 2026
Time: 7 to 8 p.m.
Where: Grindstone Theatre — 10019 81st Ave. NW, Edmonton, Alta.
Cost: $15.34+

This will be the inaugural year of the new go-to free event, Kejia Festival. Folks around Edmonton are welcome to come down to Louise McKinney Riverfront in September for three days jam-packed with endless things to do, see, and eat.

When: Friday, Sept. 4, to Sunday, Sept. 6, 2026
Time: 4 to 10 p.m. on Friday; 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday; 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday

Get ready to thrash at this new music festival taking over Fan Park this Friday.
