You can hop on a tractor and pick your own pumpkin at this Alberta park

16 September 20264 Mins Read

If there’s one thing that makes fall feel official, it’s seeing the pumpkin patches pop up around Alberta. Granary Road is bringing back its Pumpkins in the Park event this autumn, where you can take a tractor ride out to the pumpkin field and pick one to take home.

Once you’re back from the fields, you can decorate caramel apples, search for hidden pumpkins around the park, or join the pumpkin-themed mini golf tournament.

Here’s everything you need to know about Pumpkins in the Park.

What to expect at Pumpkins in the Park

 What is Granary Road?

Granary Road is an outdoor park and farmyard located just 10 minutes south of Calgary. The property has an Active Learning Park, a mini golf course, farm animals, and indoor exhibits, so there’s plenty to do beyond the seasonal events.

What is Pumpkins in the Park?

For two weekends, the park is bringing back its annual Pumpkins in the Park event. According to Granary Road, you’ll have the chance to head out to its pumpkin field and pick one to take home. You can reach the pumpkin field by tractor, and rides will run at designated times throughout the event.

Along with the pumpkin picking, you’ll also find a pumpkin scavenger hunt around the park, caramel apple decorating sessions, and a mini golf challenge, which will take place at noon each day.

When is Pumpkins in the Park?

Pumpkins in the Park will take place over two weekends, running Saturday, Sept. 26 and Sunday, Sept. 27, 2026, followed by another round of activities on Saturday, Oct. 3 and Sunday, Oct. 4, 2026. The event will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.

Where is Granary Road?

Granary Road is located in Foothills County, just south of Calgary and between Calgary and Okotoks. It’s about a 10- to 15-minute drive from the southern edge of the city. Free on-site parking is available, including accessible spaces.

How much are tickets to Pumpkins in the Park?

There are a few ways to experience Pumpkins in the Park, depending on what you want to do while you’re there. A regular Day Pass costs $24.95 plus GST per person, with children 2 and under getting in for free. This gives you access to the park and the activities included with regular admission, but it does not include the pumpkin patch tractor ride or a pumpkin. You can still enjoy the other fall activities such as the scavenger hunt, caramel apple decorating, and mini golf tournament.

If you want to head out to the pumpkin field, you’ll need to purchase a Pumpkin in the Park ticket specifically, which costs $29.95 for ages 4 and up. This ticket includes admission to the park, the tractor ride out to the pumpkin field, and one pumpkin to take home. Children 3 and under can get a ticket for just $6, or go without a pumpkin for free.

When booking the tractor ride, you’ll be asked to select a specific departure time. The tractor will leave at the exact time listed on your ticket, so make sure you’re there before your scheduled departure.

If you want to join the Pumpkin and Putts mini golf tournament or the Caramel Apple Decorating experience, you can add them for free when booking your tickets online, and you’ll choose a time for the activity.

If you’re thinking about heading out on one of the tractor rides, you’ll want to snag your tickets now, as space is limited and can fill up quickly.

So if you’ve never picked your own pumpkin straight from the field, now’s your chance. And if you have, well, there’s always room for another one on the porch!

When: Saturday, Sept. 26 to Sunday, Sept. 27, and Saturday, Oct. 3 to Sunday, Oct. 4, 2026
Time: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Where: Granary Road – 226066 112th St. W, Foothills County, Alta.
Cost: Day Pass: $24.99 plus GST, Pumpkin Patch Tractor Rides: Ages 4 and up: $29.95, Kids 3 and under (with pumpkin): $6, Kids 3 and under (no pumpkin): Free, Season Pass Holders: $9.95
