A short hike through the forest leads to this stunning B.C. waterfall with a 70-metre drop

3 October 20262 Mins Read

If you love chasing waterfalls, you’ve no doubt heard of Brandywine Falls in Whistler. And if you haven’t, all the more reason to head there on your next day trip for a quick yet refreshing stop.

Situated in its namesake provincial park, Brandywine Falls is a short, 10- to 20-minute walk from the parking lot. So you don’t have to lace up the serious hiking boots for this one if you don’t want to!

The park also offers visitors the chance to see the beautiful crystal-clear Daisy Lake, dip into two other smaller ponds, and take in the views of the surrounding mountains and Black Tusk.

It’s the perfect opportunity to pack your picnic gear and enjoy a scenic walk, all without breaking too much of a sweat. If you have any family or loved ones visiting this fall, even more reason to add this stopover beauty to your road trip itinerary.

Note that there is no access to the lower falls area, as the canyon is considered “extremely unsafe” due to unstable slopes and falling rocks.

Other than the falls, visitors can branch off of the main Brandywine Falls Trail and head to a small lake, following a short but steep climb (Swim Lake Trail).

Here, you can keep your eye out for the unique (and at-risk) red-legged frogs that call the park home!

How to get there: Drive one hour and 25 minutes from Vancouver to Brandywine Falls Park via BC-99 N.
