Parkbus launches its first two-day route, taking you from Vancouver to this dreamy fall spot

15 October 20264 Mins Read

If a trip to Harrison River Valley sounds like a dreamy way to spend your fall, you’re in luck. You don’t need access to a car to enjoy the magical fall colours and outdoor experiences the area has to offer. Parkbus has officially launched its first-ever two-day route, and it’s available for two weekends only.

As with all Parkbus routes, passengers get picked up from Burrard Station, and the same driver will take them on the journey both days. It’s a two-hour ride east to the Valley, with too much to see for just a day trip.

The world’s largest winter gathering of bald eagles

According to Parkbus, the journey starts with pickup at 9 a.m. Lunch is included with your ticket, and by 11:30 a.m., you’ll be dining beside the largest winter gathering of bald eagles in the world!

After you eat, you’ll have some time to watch this breathtaking natural phenomenon unfold, wander a bit, and then head to Kilby Historic Site, which has already transformed for autumn.

Here, you’ll find a 1906 general store museum, a running farm, and a small cafe. It’s one of the last reminders of a town-no-longer, Harrison Mills, with buildings dating all the way back to the 1880s.

At 4:30 p.m., passengers arrive at Harrison Village. While all itinerary experiences and seats on the bus are included in the price of a Parkbus ticket, you’ll be responsible for booking your own room with Harrison Hot Springs Resort, Lifty Life, or Sasquatch Inn & Pub.

After arriving, you’ll have time to check in and drop off your bags before heading off to enjoy Harrison Village’s festive Lights by the Lake, which transforms one of B.C.’s largest lakes into a glistening scene straight out of a Christmas card. The 2 km promenade will be illuminated with lights and custom holiday displays, making it the perfect late fall/early winter activity.

You’ll then be able to enjoy dinner and an evening of your creation.

At 10 a.m. on Sunday, passengers will link up once again and head to the Sasquatch Museum, where a towering eight-foot Sasquatch awaits them. In the museum, you can explore fascinating exhibits that dive into the history and lore surrounding this iconic mythical creature. And who knows, maybe you’ll find some pretty convincing witness accounts that push you to the “believer” side.

The museum and visitor centre also honour the Indigenous history of the region, with exhibits like the Sts’ailes Longhouse Room to guide visitors’ understanding of the Valley and the local Sts’ailes First Nation. This visit is the perfect blend of scientific exploration, cultural heritage, and folklore.

After the museum, passengers can enjoy an optional three-hour eagle viewing cruise out of Harrison via Shoreline Tours, which is priced separately at $129 per person. If interested, make sure you book this experience directly and tell Parkbus in advance, so the driver knows to run you to the dock.

Otherwise, late Sunday morning can be spent wandering Harrison Village, perusing the local shops, or dipping into the Harrison Mineral Baths, which are walk-in friendly for Parkbus passengers.

The bus leaves for Vancouver at 2:30 p.m. to ensure passengers arrive downtown around 5:15 p.m.

Dates and cost

The two-day Parkbus route runs only two weekends: Nov. 21 and 22, and Dec. 5 and 6, 2026. So if this itinerary has you excited for the season, make sure you book sooner rather than later.

Parkbus tickets are available online at $130 per person, with Saturday lunch included, as well as your visits to Kilby Historic Site and the Sasquatch Museum.
