A massive fireworks show is lighting up the Alberta Badlands this November

22 October 20263 Mins Read

The Alberta Badlands are set to light up with a spectacular fireworks show this November. Badlands LightFest is returning to the Badlands Amphitheatre in Drumheller, with a pyromusical display presented in collaboration with Globalfest. The show will feature fireworks choreographed to music, along with live performances taking place before the show.

If you’re thinking about heading out to Drumheller for the evening, here’s everything you need to know about the event, from what to expect to ticket prices and timing.

What to expect at the Badlands LightFest

What is LightFest?

According to organizers, Badlands LightFest is an annual fireworks event at the Drumheller Badlands Amphitheatre, a 2,500-seat outdoor venue, spread across 400 acres.

This year’s show is in collaboration with GlobalFest, and during the evening you’ll catch a pyromusical show, with fireworks choreographed to music.

Before the fireworks begin, Jacquie Daniels and her band will perform live, along with Indigenous performances. You can also grab complimentary hot chocolate and cookies upon arrival to help keep you warm during the festivities.

What is Studio Aurora Bar?

If you’re looking to grab a drink before or after the fireworks, Studio Aurora Bar will be open upstairs at the Badlands Art Centre. The 18-plus space will serve drinks from Valley Brewing and Drum Distilling from 6 p.m. to 7:15 p.m., then reopen for an hour after the fireworks show. Since space is limited, organizers recommend reserving your spot in advance.

When is LightFest?

The event takes place Saturday, Nov. 14, 2026, from 6 to 8 p.m. Parking gates open at 6 p.m., live entertainment begins at 6:30 p.m., and the fireworks show starts at 7:30 p.m.

Where is the Badlands Amphitheatre?

The Badlands Amphitheatre is located in Drumheller, which is about a 90-minute drive northeast of Calgary and roughly three hours from Edmonton by car.

How much are tickets?

Tickets cost $17 for adults, $12 for youth ages 10 to 17 and $7 for youth ages three to nine, before fees. If you’re driving to the event, you’ll also need to purchase a parking pass, which costs $8 per vehicle when purchased in advance or $10 at the gate.

Seating will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, so arriving early is a good idea if you want to get a good spot before the fireworks start.

Both tickets and parking passes are available through the official Badlands Amphitheatre website.

So if you’re not quite ready to say goodbye to outdoor events just yet, head down to LightFest and watch the sky light up with colour this November.

When: Saturday, Nov. 14, 2026
Time: 6 to 8 p.m.
Where: Badlands Amphitheatre — 605 17th St. SW, Drumheller, Alta.
Cost: Child (3 to 9): $7, Youth (10 to 17): $12, Adult: $17
