10 of the best things to do in and around Vancouver this weekend (Oct. 30-Nov. 1)

29 October 20265 Mins Read

It’s officially Halloweekend, Vancouver, so this is your last chance to lean into all things spooky. Carve those pumpkins, grab those last-minute costume details, hit the town, and be glad we’re not among those switching our clocks back an hour on Sunday! Here are 10 of the best things to do in and around Vancouver this weekend (Oct. 30-Nov. 1).

The Vancouver Opera kicks off its 2026/2027 season with Puccini’s Tosca, the fifth most-performed opera in the world. Taking place over 24 hours, the story is a gripping tale of passion, politics, and betrayal, set in 17th-century Rome. It’s considered to have one of Puccini’s most emotionally charged scores, too.

Time: 2:30 and 7:30 p.m.
Where: 630 Hamilton St.
Cost: $50 to $265 per person

Flushment Day is an immersive theatrical experience at the Beaumont that’s equal parts burlesque, comedy, live music, and an escape room all rolled into one. Time: 7 to 9 p.m.

Hastings Moonrise is an all-ages neighbourhood party with live bands featuring local teens and kids, so it’s the perfect event to bring the entire family out for. The event takes place at Famee Furlane Hall, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. In addition to live music and entertainment, there will be candy, a dance contest, and a costume contest.

When: Friday, Oct. 30, 2026
Time: Doors open at 6:30 p.m.; show starts at 7 p.m.
Where: 2605 East Pender St.

While the launch party is now sold out, there are still a couple of fun events to look forward to this weekend at Vancouver’s North Shore Craft Beer Fest. Namely, Halloween Night at Copperpenny and a Day of the Dead celebration at La Cervecería Astilleros.

Burnaby Village Museum has transformed into a Haunted Village, complete with roving entertainers and performers, spooky lighting and special effects throughout the exhibits, and of course, plenty of witches, vampires, and ghosts lurking around. Mali Crafts Co and Dream Collective are hosting a stamp-making workshop on Halloween that’s beginner-friendly, and you don’t have to worry about bringing any tools. You’ll be able to design, carve, and take home a linocut stamp of your creation, perfect for journalling, card-making, gift-wrapping, or just trying something new and creative.

When: Saturday, Oct. 31, 2026

Western Canada’s largest haunt is back at the PNE starting this week, and it’s set to be spookier than ever. Starting Oct. 7, the rides at Playland will come alive with sinister energy, roaming performers will terrify you at the midway, and there will be multiple haunted houses that’ll give you goosebumps.

Canyon Frights has nearly returned to Capilano Suspension Bridge, and there’s plenty to check out at this outdoor attraction this year. This one’s for anyone who has been wanting to carve a pumpkin but hasn’t had the chance to get out to a patch just yet. For an event that starts in the late afternoon with pumpkin carving, snacks, and a costume contest, and ends with an after-party, consider checking out this craft night on Granville. According to the event page, it’ll be equal parts craft night and social, with plenty of opportunities to get creative and enjoy the Halloween vibes with friends old and new.
