Fairmont New Orleans Opens in Central Business District

2 November 20263 Mins Read

In Brief: Fairmont New Orleans opened Nov. 2, 2026, in the city’s Central Business District as Fairmont Hotels & Resorts’ 100th hotel globally.

Fairmont New Orleans has opened across 17 stories of the former Bank of New Orleans building, a 31-story structure designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill in 1970. Kailas Companies developed the hotel, which is operated by Fairmont Hotels & Resorts.

The 250-room hotel is near the French Quarter, Caesars Superdome, Bourbon Street, the Warehouse District and the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center. Rates start at $459 per night.

Rockwell Group designed the interiors. Restoration work included the building’s original sidewalks, entry canopy, lobby floors and concrete walls on the first and second floors, as well as second-floor decorative bronze paneling and a local cypress ceiling.

The property has 250 guest rooms and suites. Select king rooms include “faux balconies” with café tables. Loft suites on the upper level have double-height windows facing Caesars Superdome, lofted primary bedrooms with glass railings, custom wallcoverings and wet bars with hammered brass sinks.

Fairmont Gold is scheduled to open in December on the 29th and 30th floors. The offering will include a private lounge overlooking the Mississippi River, concierge service, breakfast, afternoon canapés, beverages and a separate arrival and check-in process.

The hotel opened with Delmonico Steakhouse and The Café by Emeril through a partnership with Chef Emeril Lagasse and The Emeril Group. Delmonico Steakhouse is open for dinner and serves prime cuts from Creekstone Farms, dry-aged in-house, along with Japanese Wagyu, seafood, oysters and caviar. It is the concept’s first location outside Las Vegas.

The Café by Emeril is open for breakfast and lunch, with French-inspired dishes, Creole accents and Southern influences.

Additional food and beverage venues are scheduled to open in early December, including the rooftop pool, Bleu Perdu and Third Measure cocktail bar. Bleu Perdu will open onto the pool terrace with city and Mississippi River views, bistro-style dining, sun loungers, cabanas, foliage, tile flooring and an area for live performances. Third Measure was developed in collaboration with Neal Bodenheimer, founder of Cure.

A 10,000-square-foot spa and fitness center is also scheduled to open in early December. It will include three private treatment rooms, a couples’ suite, dry sauna, steam room, relaxation lounges, a Dressing Room and a fitness studio with Matrix Onyx equipment.

Fairmont New Orleans has more than 19,000 square feet of meeting and event space for groups ranging from 10 to 500 guests. The facilities include nine primary venues: two ballrooms of about 4,000 square feet each, six meeting rooms and an executive boardroom, and three foyers. Two ballrooms and two foyers occupy the refurbished second floor, formerly the Bank of New Orleans’ main lobby.
