Toronto commuters are used to seeing some unusual things, but a giant pink blob wandering around the city has left the internet coming up with the weirdest theories.
Over the past couple of weeks, the lumpy-looking creature has been spotted at Union Station, The Well and other spots downtown, sparking hundreds of comments across Reddit threads.
In case you need a reminder…

One Reddit user shared a photo of the pink character standing near the subway turnstiles at Union, asking, “Anybody know what it’s for? A movie?”
“That’s my gum. Sorry, it fell out of my mouth,” a user joked.
“Why’d you take a pic of me, I was tired,” another wrote.
Someone else dubbed the creature “Blob Blobford,” while another Reddit user, who spotted it near Yonge and Dundas, added, “Guess his shift ended and now he is going home through transit.”
Another user suspected the creature was part of pop culture fandom. “Isn’t it the baby from that weird show in the 90s about dinosaurs or something[?] It was like real but fake looking and the baby sat In a High chair all the time throwing fits.”
No, not exactly, but the mystery was finally solved on Monday. Sinai Health Foundation revealed that the mysterious creature is actually Flammy, the face of a new campaign raising awareness about chronic inflammation!

Flammy’s appearance might be amusing, but the message behind the campaign is serious.
According to Sinai, chronic inflammation happens when the body’s immune response doesn’t switch off as it should. Over time, it can damage healthy cells and tissues and has been linked to serious conditions, like cancer, heart disease and diabetes.
“By introducing Flammy and this campaign, we hope to bring attention to the role chronic inflammation can play in major diseases and the urgent need to tackle questions about how to address it,” Louis de Melo, President and CEO of Sinai Health Foundation, said in a statement.
