‘A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder’ Season 2 Sets May 2026 Netflix Return

Pip Fitz-Amobi is officially back on the case and we don’t have long to wait. Following a tease yesterday, Netflix and the BBC have announced that the highly anticipated second season of A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder will premiere globally on Wednesday, May 27th.

Following the smash-hit success of the first season—which became one of BBC iPlayer’s most-watched titles for young adults and a massive global hit for Netflix—fans have been eagerly awaiting news on Pip’s next mystery. We’ve been tracking the show’s progress ever since Netflix officially renewed the series, and now we finally have a date to mark on our calendars, plus a finalized list of all the new cast!

The release date announcement may not come as a huge surprise, given that some of the cast teased something was due out imminently on social media yesterday:

What To Know About A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder Season 2

We’ll have a full preview in due course, but here’s a quick recap:

The official synopsis of season 2 reads, “After solving the Andie Bell case, Pip’s world has been transformed by her actions, and not always for the better. Pip is determined to fix the fallout – and stay away from any more investigations. But as Max Hastings’ trial approaches, key witness Jamie Reynolds suddenly disappears and Pip finds herself in a race against time to find him. This new mystery will take Pip to unexpected places as she struggles with the idea of justice, straying even further from the ‘good girl’ she once was.”

Wednesday breakout star Emma Myers is, of course, returning to lead the series as Pip Fitz-Amobi, alongside Zain Iqbal as Ravi Singh.

Alongside returning favorites like Henry Ashton, Asha Banks, Yali Topol Margalith, and Jude Morgan-Collie, Netflix and the BBC have lifted the lid on a slew of new faces joining the mystery.

Three major new characters have been cast for the upcoming season:

  • Misia Butler (KAOS) will play Stanley Forbes, a figure on the fringes of the investigation, with connections that may run deeper than they seem.
  • Eden Hambelton-Davies (Tell Me Everything) plays Jamie Reynolds, Connor’s brother and a quiet but popular local musician whose sudden disappearance sends shockwaves throughout the community.
  • Jack Rowan (Noughts And Crosses) joins as Charlie Green, Pip’s new neighbor who is drawn into the heart of the mystery unraveling in Little Kilton.

Rounding out the new cast in key supporting roles are Anna Brindle (The Outs), Peter Sullivan (Around The World In 80 Days), Freddie Thorp (Fate: The Winx Saga), Lu Corfield (The Crow Girl), Stephanie Street (Breathtaking), and Freddie England.

Holly Jackson remains heavily involved in the series, stepping up to co-adapt the second season for the screen alongside returning writer Poppy Cogan. Directing duties for season 2 are split into two blocks: Asim Abbasi will direct block one, while Jill Robertson takes the helm for block two. The series is produced by Sophie Klein.

The show continues to be produced by Moonage Pictures (part of ITV Studios) for BBC iPlayer and BBC Three, in co-production with Netflix and ZDFneo. Executive producers include Matthew Read, Simon Crawford Collins, and Frith Tiplady for Moonage Pictures; Lucy Richer, Danielle Scott-Haughton, and Katherine Bond for the BBC; alongside Holly Jackson, Poppy Cogan, and Asim Abbasi.

As with season 1, there are expected to be a few asterisks on the show’s availability, at least for this year. As a BBC commission, the series will premiere exclusively on BBC Three and BBC iPlayer. It will likely head to Netflix UK much further down the line, similar to season 1. Elsewhere, Stan carries the show in Australia, and ZDFneo in the DACH region.

That’s it for the moment. Sadly, we didn’t get a trailer or any new stills today. We’re sure there’s more news to come about the show in the near future…
