A GTA baker is hosting secret neighbourhood bake sales loaded with viral banana pie cups, Canada Reviews

29 July 20262 Mins Read

You don’t have to head to a fancy Toronto pastry shop for an over-the-top summer treat. One Mississauga-based artisan baker has been drawing sweet-toothed locals to neighbourhood bake sales loaded with banana pie cups, chocolate-studded banana bread, coffee swirl cake and luxe loaves!

Bri is the mastermind behind Baked By Bri, a handcrafted dessert business she officially launched in 2021. She started with gourmet chocolate-covered strawberries before creating her signature banana pie cups, which soon became one of the brand’s defining treats.

Today, those little cups come in some seriously drool-worthy flavours. The menu includes everything from Signature Biscoff, Oreo and Nutella to Banana Misu, Ube Biscoff, Pandan Biscoff and Matcha Banana Biscoff. Bri has even turned her signature dessert into an experience: a staffed, build-your-own banana pudding station that can be brought to private parties, corporate events and other celebrations. So, guests can create their own banana pudding cups with toppings and gourmet sauces, while a team handles everything from setup and service to cleanup.

Oh, and you don’t need to book a private event to get a taste of Bri’s treats: they’ve also been popping up at her summer neighbourhood bake sales!

Bri’s baking journey started long before the recent bake sales. Her mom gave her her first KitchenAid mixer at just 11 years old. After earning an Honours degree in Health Studies, Bri eventually followed a more creative path to Ferrandi Paris, where she studied fresh pastry, before launching her business.

If you miss one of Bri’s summer bake sales, you can still satisfy your sweet tooth by ordering online. Options include pie tubs, deluxe pie trays, mini pie cups, assorted cups and more!

Follow @bakedbybrixo for more info.

And Bri isn’t the only one serving up delicious eats from a Mississauga neighbourhood. Mario, the man behind The Hungry Goat Pizza, recently started selling limited quantities of his pies from his home on Nahani Way, where customers pick up their orders from a branded side window!
