A new suspended forest canopy experience just opened at this iconic B.C. destination

5 August 20263 Mins Read

A new forest walk experience suspended high above the forest canopy just opened in B.C., and you’ll definitely want to check it out before summer’s end. The Eagle Net Park is part of Golden Skybridge, the highest suspension bridge in Canada, and gives guests of all ages the chance to explore the forest canopy from a whole new perspective.

Spanning nearly 500 square metres and situated seven metres above the forest floor, the new family-friendly attraction is designed with everyone in mind, from toddlers to grandparents.

It features elevated nets, climbing tunnels, scenic lookout platforms, and aerial walkways overlooking the canyon below. In essence, if you’ve ever wondered what it would be like to float above the trees, now is your chance to make that dream a reality.

“As a must-visit stop for travellers exploring the Canadian Rockies, Eagle Net Park gives families another way to explore,” says Stuart Back, chief operating officer at Pursuit. “We’re proud that it opens the canyon to every guest, at every age.”

Guests can walk, bounce, or climb on the suspended nets, with plenty of room for all three to take place at once.

“Inspired by the eagles that soar above the canyon, Eagle Net Park lets guests become part of the forest canopy itself,” adds Jason Crawford, general manager of Golden Skybridge. “As they climb through the trees and pause at lookout points, they experience the canopy from a perspective unlike anything else at Golden Skybridge.”

The new attraction marks a further investment in the Golden Skybridge’s multi-year master plan to create new world-class outdoor experiences for all ages, in partnership with EcoSign Mountain Resort Planners and The Trekking Group.

Each new experience added will allow guests to connect even deeper with Canada’s most iconic natural wonders.

The Eagle Net Park comes on the heels of the launch of Rockies Rangers, a self-guided adventure program available at seven Pursuit attractions, which launched earlier this summer. Through the program, children under 16 earn collectible embroidered badges while discovering local wildlife, history, and the natural landscape.

Ready to start planning your visit? Those who venture to Golden Skybridge can also take a ride through the lush forest from above via the Railrider Mountain Coaster, Canada’s largest mountain coaster, soar through the sky on a zipline, or even try their hand at axe-throwing.

There are also three kilometres of scenic walking trails to roam at your leisure, a mini adventure park for families, and casual bites at an outdoor dining area.

How much is admission?

Access to Eagle Net Park is included in every Bridge Pass, which is priced at $47 per adult and $30.54 per child. Each pass gets you access to the Skybridge and Eagle Net Park, while an Adventure Pass ($107 per adult, $47.77 per child) adds access to the Railrider Mountain Coaster, the Canyon Edge Challenge Course, and the Sky Zipline.

It’s up to you how you experience the lush forest of Golden, B.C.!

How to get there: Drive seven hours and 50 minutes from Vancouver to Golden via BC-5 N and Trans-Canada Highway/BC-1 E
