Looks like Ariana Grande is saying “thank u, next” to her signature ponytail—at least for now.
In a Thursday, October 22 Instagram post, the singer showed off a sleek, shoulder-length brunette bob cut, styled with a side-swept bang and ends flipped away from her face. She posted a few photos of the look, which got tons of compliments from friends and fans in the comments.

“Bob!!!” influencer Nara Smith wrote.
“Natural cutie,” Grande’s Victorious costar Daniella Monet said.
Gigi Hadid replied, “lly cute !!!!!!!!!”
Her boyfriend Ricky Alvarez chimed in, saying, “i wanna ask you out.”
The retro-inspired cut is a switch-up for Grande, whose high ponytail became one of her most recognizable looks through the years. She first became known for her cherry-red hair on Nickelodeon, then spent years with long brunette strands. For Wicked, she went blonde to play Glinda, keeping the golden color through much of the film’s press run before returning to brown in 2025.

The new photos arrived a few days after Grande shared heartbreaking news about Coco, her dog of 17 years. On October 19, she posted a tribute to Coco on Instagram, remembering the longtime companion who had been with her since before her first album. Grande did not share the cause of death.
Grande has also said she plans to step back from public-facing work and appearances following her Eternal Sunshine tour, which wrapped in London on September 1. The break followed ongoing public scrutiny of her appearance and health, but Grande said the decision was “not a reactive or impulsive thing” and had been planned for a long time.
A source close to her said the tour involved demanding, athletic performances and that she performed “healthily and successfully” throughout. Grande also withdrew from the planned West End revival of Sunday in the Park With George.
