Agreement: Union or Non-Union applicants are welcome. DOT Policy (theatre) for Equity members – pending approval.
PRODUCTION INFORMATION
When Salem Lutheran Church’s 1997 Christmas Pageant is cancelled, it is up to Miss Gloria to step up to the plate and serve a genuine home-cooked experience–including some good ol’ hymns and church stories (with a splash of sass). You’ll never see the Nativity Story the same again!
ROLES TO BE CAST
SHEPHERD – The Pianist – any age, gender, body type, or ethnicity
Must play piano and be somewhat comfortable with musical improvisation. Minimal acting required.
About the role:
The pianist
is (without knowing it) Gloria’s guardian angel.
You’ll have one line.
You’ll be loved.
Pianist can be played by anyone with the appropriate music skill set. Any body type or age or ethnicity or gender. In drag or not.
Character will remain on stage for duration of play (solo one act, no intermission)
Pianist must be able to confidently improvise a variety of different musical styles (hymns, gospel, popular, vaudeville silent movie style, etc.) Reading music is an asset, but not a requirement.
AUDITION DATES
August 15th, 2026
Auditions will take place in Calgary, Alberta.
