If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a thousand times—pumpkin spice shouldn’t have the chokehold on fall flavor it does. Don’t get me wrong, I love pumpkin as much as the next person (well, maybe not as much considering I refuse to cozy up to a PSL until the temperature drops below 75), but I want other flavors to get their chance in the spotlight, too.
As if by some sort of sorcery, Carnation got the memo that’s been living rent-free in my head, and it just dropped its first fall flavor in the brand’s history. Now you might remember Carnation did get into the flavor game back in the summer of 2024 when it introduced Kickin’ Jalapeno Evaporated Milk. But now is the time for the pantry staple to get a delicious autumn makeover.

If you’re the kind of person who sees the word caramel and immediately starts thinking about what you can drizzle, bake or stir it into, Carnation has some very good news. The brand is giving its classic evaporated milk a seriously delicious fall twist with Carnation Caramel Flavored Evaporated Milk.

Think buttery toffee, toasted sugar and plenty of vanilla warmth in a 12-ounce can that’s ready to bring a little extra coziness to your recipes. And you’re not limited to dessert, either. It can add that sweet, rich caramel flavor to everything from breakfast favorites to savory dishes. It’s really just one more excuse to embrace caramel season in the kitchen. The limited-edition cans are available now for $2.19 at retailers nationwide and online.

How to Use Carnation’s New Caramel Flavored Evaporated Milk

I plan on using this stuff in just about every baked good or dessert I make this fall, like Arroz Con Leche, which already has a hint of cinnamon, so the caramel flavor will complement that so well. Then of course there’s Tres Leches Cake, apple pancakes, French toast and so much more.
Even though there are about a million different ways to use the caramel-flavored evaporated milk in desserts or breakfast goodies you make all of the time, Carnation still wants to give you a little recipe inspo with the new product. For that very reason, they also dropped a recipe for Caramel Apple Pie Bars (shown above), and it’s killer.
This flavor won’t be around forever, so grab a few cans while you can.
