Chad Lowe and Kim Painter celebrate the life of their late 13-year-old daughter, Fiona, nearly one month after her death.
PEOPLE reported that family and friends gathered for a private service memorializing Fiona over the weekend. Chad and Kim revealed Fiona’s death on Sept. 29 in a heartfelt statement, describing their daughter as “a loving young girl who was smart, creative, and loved to dance.”
“We are deeply heartbroken by the loss of our beloved Fiona,” they said. “She was adored by her sisters, and she was deeply loved by her parents. In fact, she was the light of our lives.”
“Her passing is devastating for our entire family and we ask for prayers and privacy at this time,” they added before sharing the number to the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.

Fiona was born on Nov. 12, 2012, as the second of Chad and Kim’s three daughters. The 13-year-old died in the hospital on Sept. 29, with the Los Angeles Medical Examiner ruling her death a suicide on Oct. 1.
A source told PEOPLE that actor Rob Lowe, Chad’s older brother, was among the family members who came together to support him and Kim as they grieve Fiona’s death.
“Rob and Chad are very close. Their family and friends have rallied around Chad and Kim,” the source said. “Everyone’s heartbroken.”
“They already went through so much with losing their home last year,” the source continued. “Right now, the focus is on being there for them in any way they can.”
Chad and Kim remained close with their family during this difficult time, joining them for the wedding of Rob’s son, Matthew, in early October.
“Chad and Kim wanted to make sure their daughters were around family and friends and thought it was important for their family to have some moments of joy and be surrounded by those who love them, and loved Fiona, most,” a source told PEOPLE.
