Christie Brinkley Eats Whipped Cream From the Can in Hilarious 72nd Birthday Video Made by Her Daughter

Christie Brinkley rose to fame as the eponymous California girl, and she’s still the same legendary blonde on her 72nd birthday.

Brinkley, who rose to fame as a model and Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover girl in the ’80s, has been on the cover of hundreds of magazines over the years. While she parlayed that beautiful face into an acting career, the role she considers most important is mother.

Brinkley’s lookalike daughter, Sailor Brinkley Cook, took to social media on Monday to honor her mom with a hilarious clip video that shows Brinkley doing everything from dancing in her lingerie and feeding her dog from her plate at the table to eating directly from a can of whipped cream in the middle of the grocery store.

“HBD MOM!!!!❤️,” Brinkley Cook captioned the sweet video. In the comments section, Brinkley replied with a sweet message to her “precious Sailor Lee like the Sunflower 🌻.”

“You always add smiles and beauty to every day! With your talent as a filmmaker, you capture the little moments that might go unnoticed …but are actually the precious moments that make up our lives! She’s a DIY Diva in a Bikini

These days, Brinkley loves to spend time at her luxury Turks and Caicos estate, Lucky House. But when it comes to doing her DIY projects, she manages to make them look a whole lot more glamorous than the rest of us.

“Mirror mirror on the wall, fix you up if your shells do fall! I’m not complaining because I LOVE a project! Hope everyone finds time to do something you L❤️VE today! #before#after 🐚🪸 @luckyhouseparrotcay,” she captioned a recent series of photos, which features Brinkley sporting a dark string bikini to gather shells, reef, and other items from the sea to create a frame around a mirror. With a straw hat on her head, the ageless beauty has barely changed since her “Uptown Girl” days.

Revealing How She Was Discovered

Last year, on an episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, Brinkley shared that her modeling career kicked off when she was approached by a man during her days as a struggling artist living in Paris.

“My Paris apartment didn’t have a telephone. It didn’t have a bathtub or a shower,” Brinkley, who released her memoir, Uptown Girl, in April 2025, explained to Clarkson. “I would go to the public baths a couple of blocks away. If I needed to make a phone call, I would go to the telephoning office and I would use the phone there.”

A trip to that telephoning artist turned out to be just the thing that started Brinkley’s modeling career. A photographer in the neighborhood had seen Brinkley at the telephoning office before, and when he got a job that needed a fresh-faced California girl like Brinkley, he knew she’d be perfect for the gig.

“He thought, ‘that girl from the telephoning office!’” Brinkley recalled.

One day, Brinkley was carrying her puppy around and wasn’t paying attention to where she was going. It was then that she ran right into the photographer.

“I smacked right into him in the phone office,” Brinkley shared, explaining that moment was the catalyst for her legendary career.

While it may seem like a stroke of luck, Brinkley went on to say that the run-in with the photographer is just another example of how fate has played a role in her life.

“Whether it was something really bad, really heartbreaking, or really devastating, it can still propel you places that you never suspected, you know?” Brinkley shared.
