Toronto’s most fashion-forward four-legged Halloween enthusiasts will get a chance to strut their canine stuff at The Bentway’s annual Howl’oween costume contest on Oct. 24.
The popular canine celebration is returning to the Bentway, bringing together dogs and their owners for an afternoon of creative costumes, prizes and plenty of Halloween fun.
Hosted by Toronto drag princess Ella Mayo, the event runs from noon to 4 p.m. and will feature four costume categories: Best DIY Costume, Best Family Costume, Judges’ Picks and a new addition this year, Best Pet Superhero Costume.
There are some serious prizes up for grabs, too.
Winners in the Best DIY Costume, Best Family Costume and Judges’ Picks categories will each receive prize packs valued at $500, courtesy of Ren’s Pets. The winner of the new Best Pet Superhero category will take home a $500 cash prize courtesy of Kidde.
Visitors can also browse pet-focused vendors from the Toronto Dog Moms Market, enjoy warm drinks and treats, and take in the festive atmosphere with fellow dog lovers.
The event takes place at The Bentway Skate Trail, 250 Fort York Blvd., on Saturday, October 24, from noon to 4 p.m. Admission details are available through The Bentway.
