The film chronicles a titular era of Presley’s career, capturing him at his best, performing in front of a live audience. Segments where the King of Rock and Roll rehearses for his upcoming residency pull back the curtain on the entertainer, showing his sense of humor, work ethic, and close relationship with his band members and backup singers.
Told entirely through his own voice, this reimagined take on the King of Rock ’n’ Roll delivers a fuller, more intimate picture of the icon. From behind-the-scenes touring moments to private life at Graceland, viewers get a rare glimpse into a side of Presley he kept guarded from the world.
In the post’s comments section, Presley’s fans reacted to the exciting news.
“YESSSS. I love that EPiC is getting the recognition it deserves. Can we get it back in theaters now?” asked one fan.
A second follower noted, “Best Elvis documentation. All about the music and his love for what he was doing.”
“I’m so happy this film was made out of passion and love; I’m so grateful Elvis got to tour around the world. As Austin Butler said, ‘You are remembered,'” stated a third Instagram user.
A fourth fan concluded, “Congratulations to Baz and everyone who worked on EPiC! You deserve it! Thank you for bringing Elvis to the screen in this incredible film!”
The 11th Annual Critics Choice Documentary Awards will take place on Sunday, November 8, 2026, at the Edison Ballroom in New York City.
